FORGOT TO EAT?!

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

I was flipping through Direct tv local channels today when my stomach started to growl. It occurred to me that I had been watching television and working on my laptop all day. Now it was four o’clock in the afternoon and I hadn’t eaten lunch! I haven’t forgotten to eat lunch in years! I couldn’t believe that I did it today. I immediately ran and got something to eat. If I don’t eat sometimes, I get really bad migraines. By really bad, I can’t handle light or loud sounds. If I have a really bad migraine, I don’t even leave the house. Luckily, I realized that I hadn’t eaten just in time. I think that if I had gone just one more hour without eating that I would have most certainly gotten sick and would have not gotten all of my work done. It has been a year since my last migraine, but I couldn’t afford another one, that’s for sure! I would miss my deadlines and be in lots of trouble with my boss.

I get homesick sometimes

I stay skinny because I skip meals, but, of course, I am not proud of it. I am just lazy with fixing something to eat. I don't advice anyone to skip meals just so to lose weight. It is not the way to go about it, you can develop an illness doing that...I heard. Maybe this is why I am already sickly at my age. Anyway, I miss our Filipino food. I don't feel good sometimes just thinking how long I have been away from home and have not been able to taste our native dishes-cooking. It gives me a headache to imagine the food I missed. Hmmm...I may not show it in my face that I am dying to get home, but I do. I am desperate, and every time I hear someone going home, I wish I can go too. Oh, I really wish I can visit my homeland.

Visit to Colorado

Guest post from: Steve Delaney

Last summer my husband and I went to Colorado to watch my brother-in-law graduate from the Air Force Academy. It was a really fun trip and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go. Colorado is beautiful and I had never been there before. While we were there, we actually helped my brother-in-law’s fiancĂ©’s family move into a new house. It was kind of a strange situation and I thought that it was very strange that they moved during the weekend of my brother-in-law’s graduation. I guess they figured that since so many people would be in town for the graduation, they would have some extra hands to help them move. I offered to help them set up their utilities, to which they accepted. I looked for “Direct TV Colorado Springs” and found out that they could get satellite TV at their new address. I think that Colorado Springs would be a great place to live. I could not get over how breathtaking the mountains are and the air quality there is so fresh and clean. Hopefully my husband and I will go back there someday to visit.

Wishing for good health

I consider myself to have everything but a sound health. I wish I can have my old self back where I never had any aches and pains. It's awful to be sick. I really hope to be in good health again someday. There is nothing in this world like being in good health. Health is everything because health is wealth! Anyway, I learned more about health and nutrition after taking a biology class. Now I know a bit more about how to keep fit, and have a healthy diet. It basically takes some adjustments, self-control, and will power. You have to discipline yourself if you want something to go right. However, we can never say never to indulging ourselves on what we love to eat, do, etc. the most. Every once in a while is fine. It's doing it daily that is bad in general. Okay, I've gotta go for now.

Coastguard Wife

Post contributed by Josue Durham

I really, really like being in the Coastguard. Helping other people and serving my country has always been a passion of mine and I can’t believe I get paid to go out in the beautiful bay everyday in a huge boat. My coworkers are great and my hours are too, but there’s one problem: the overnights. Every three weeks I have to be gone for 4 consecutive days at a time which makes my wife and new baby less than happy. I devised an awesome way to keep in touch, though, and set my wife up with a blog of her own.

She loves being online and chatting with other new moms but I really like being to logon while I’m out in the harbor using the mobile internet I got through one of those Wilmington CLEARINTERNET specials and check out pictures of my son. She’s careful to post new ones each afternoon that I’m gone, and sometimes we can even IM when we’re online at the same time. Being able to keep in touch sure helps soften the pain of being apart.

I Have a Lot of Spring Cleaning to Do!

It's my spring break, and while I'm home most of the time I will have to start working on cleaning our house. There are so many things for me to clean and organize. The first thing I'll probably do is get our bathroom cleaned, it makes me wish though that I could just hire somebody to do it for me. It reminds me that I was just visiting the shower tile cleaning austin for people who are looking for a reliable cleaning service in Austin, Texas. The only thing is we don't live in Austin. Anyway, I am also thinking about re-painting the interior of our house. First thing first though, I still have to fix the spots that water has damaged in our ceilings and walls. That is I have to do it again! Or maybe I should talk my husband into hiring somebody to do it for us. If there is a ceiling water damage repair austin, I am sure that we can find a cleaning service that does the same thing around our area. As daunting as the tasks ahead of me, I am sure glad that my husband's family members helped us with washing our sidings. It was so nice when they did, because we certainly didn't think about doing it any time soon. It's a job that I think requires assistance from somebody who was trained to clean sidings like what the power washing siding austin is all about. Now if we ever have to wash our sidings again, we'll probably hire a professional to help us. I know I couldn't do it. It's rather a hazardous job for anybody who hasn't been trained on how to wash sidings properly and safely.
